Résumé

De strictement fonctionnelle à ses débuts, l’implantologie est devenue aujourd’hui une discipline incluant l’esthétique pour l’appréciation du résultat final. Cette esthétique inclut évidemment la dent et son environnement gingival, mais aussi l’appui de la lèvre et le bord libre des dents, permettant d’obtenir un sourire harmonieux, que celui-ci se fasse bouche ouverte ou bouche fermée. Que l’édentement soit unitaire, partiel ou total, une analyse rigoureuse préimplantaire permet une optimisation du résultat final, analyse pouvant inclure une prothèse d’essai préfigurant le résultat final.

Abstract

The implantology has evolved from a striclty functional aspect at the start, to a discipline including aesthetics in the final result’s appraisal. This aesthetics includes of course the tooth and its gingival environment, but also the support of the lip and the free edge of the teeth, allowing to obtain a harmonious smile, both mouth open or shut. Whether missing only one or several tooth (up to totally toothless), an accurate pre-implant analysis allows an optimized final result. The analysis can also include a testing prosthesis, which can prefigure the final result.
